Laughter

Time got away from me and I didn't take the time to share on Father's Day how thankful I am for the Fathers in my life.  My dad's are awesome!  I have learned so much from them.  Now that I'm a parent myself I REALLY appreciate everything they have sacrificed and do sacrifice for me!  I am so thankful that I have a dad in my life, who loves and cares about me!  I love you Daddy!!
AND this is what I LOVE the most about the Father of my children...
he makes me LAUGH, hard!
This isn't the best picture, but I love it, because it shows how happy he makes me.  Whenever I'm having a down moment or things are awkward or too serious, he always finds a way to make me laugh.
That's why the only pictures I have of him where he's smiling like a normal person and not making some funny face or trying to make someone else make a funny face, are professional pictures. BUT...
I am so thankful for his smile and the joy he brings to our family.
My kids love and adore him and love to laugh with him.
They are both two little sillies who like to make people laugh, just like their dad!
Today Rosie was walking through the house yelling, "Daaaddy,  Daaadyyy, Daaaddyyy!"
It was so cute and it make me think about how awesome their dad is and how lucky they are to have him.
He's only gone like 13 or 14 hours a day, BUT we miss him, TERRIBLY!
We love you Daddy Tay-Tay!!

Preschool Survivor!

Cruz survived his 1st year of preschool!
 Isn't he cute?

This is the clan, minus PJ he had already left.

 Funny Faces.
 continued...
Cruz learned so much this year, I am seriously amazed!  He loves to sing the ABC song, knows all his letters and their sounds and of course his colors too.  We are still working on writing his letters, especially his name, but it's coming along!
It was a little bittersweet having the end of year party, knowing that next year we probably won't be here.
Hopefully, we will find a preschool with some great friends in Montana!
However, we are thankful for the many memories and great friends!
Now, it's summer time and we are spending lots of time in the pool!

PiGTaiLs!!!

Rosie has pigtails...

So, she now has pigtails, but they come at a price.  You have to be willing to wrestle her down, be REALLY fast, work with a moving target and deal with the highest pitch squeal you've ever heard (seriously, the highest and the loudest)!  However, it turns out so cute, I think it might be worth it.
Getting her to sit still and pose for a picture comes at nearly the same price, so I was excited to get a few of her beautiful smile!
Enjoy!

A Big Boy Bike

So, we decided it was time to by Cruz a big boy bike...
We were at the park on a play date, when all the girls were riding "big" bikes and Cruz was riding a little trike trying with all his might to keep up, while his knees were hitting him in the chest as he pedaled.  It was a little humiliating, and daddy decided to spoil Cruz on his day off.
We tried to get him to choose a different bike that was a little larger, but once he put his sights on this one, it was all over.  It didn't matter what we said, he still wanted the transformer bike, none of the others were as cool!

Cruz was trying so hard to be "helpful" while daddy was putting his bike together...
so, I distracted him and he posed a few good ones for me:)

"Seriously, why didn't you just pay the 15 bucks and by the one that was already put together!"

A happy boy and daddy...now that the bike was FINALLY put together!  SO sweet!
It's still difficult pedaling up-hill in our amazing yard!

...too hard!

A tired daddy and a frustrated Cruz...but it's ALL worth it!

So, funny story.  We were picking out helmets and we started with the 3+...too small.  So, we tried the 5+, it seemed like it would work...got it home and it doesn't fit him either!
Cruz is so excited he can hardly stand it.  He came inside red faced and purely exhausted!
Many more fun days to come!

Girlfriends

GIRL FRIENDS...

This is my book club and we were saying goodbye to one of our best girl friends. She moved to Utah, it was sad, but has led me to contemplate how blessed I am to have such amazing friends.
I've been thinking about life in Tennessee with my family back west.
There is no way I could survive living out here without my friends.  They are always there to cheer me up and make me smile.  I can count on them to be a babysitter last minute when an unavoidable commitment comes up.  It seems when I'm having a rough day, they are always there.
Today, another of my girlfriends is coming over to say goodbye.  She is amazing.  She loves my kids nearly as much as I do.  Although I will be sad to see her go, I can't help but just be happy I had the opportunity to know her!
Aren't you thankful for your friends?

9 MOnTh's...AlReaDY!

Rosie
Our beauty, our angel, our baby.
She is growing too fast.  Can I say that enough?
She is doing something new every week.
While on vacation she started eating REAL food and gained a few with the rest of us!
She started to crawl!
She smiles so hard, you are sure it must hurt!
She's stubborn.
She's Cruz's friend and tormentor.
She LOVES to nurse.
I could go on and on.
Our princess is growing up.
After our trip, I decided she was going to go to sleep on her own from now on.
It all started yesterday.
Nap time went pretty good.  It only took about 20 minutes.
Bed time was a different story.
We started at 8:45pm and at 9:30pm we were still going.
We peeked in her room and she was sitting up
(who knew she could go from laying down to sitting up...another new trick)
with her back against the rails, just looking at the wall, making small whining/moaning noises.
About 5-10 minutes later we peeked again and found her in this position.
So adorable...she fell asleep sitting up!
BUT she did it!  And she slept through the night!!!!!

Love you all!

Independence Day 2010

Thankfully the weather calmed down and warmed up so that we could sit around the fire and laugh together!

Aren't they the cutest great-grandma's ever?!?! They had as much fun as we did! Or more?

A priceless picture of Rosie, Nana Chelle, and 2 Great Grandma's! What a lucky girl!

It took Rosie a minute to warm up, but once she did she melted everyone's heart! Even Grandpa-Great!

Mindy Kay and Rosie became the best of friends by the end of the week. Rosie loved this bear, even though it kept tickling her nose.

Tyson and Rosie bonded...by the end he couldn't put her down. What an uncle.

Cruz woke up after a long nap to a house full of people, but was so excited for some kids to play with! We couldn't get him to come in the house for anything! He was so cute running around like a big kid! He LOVED the fireworks. He could do them for hours! I love this stage! They are so much fun (minus those meltdowns every once in a while!)

Rosie looked so cute in her 4th of July outfit...it was a little cold for the weather, but I left it on hoping that maybe the weather would get better...it didn't! But didn't she look adorable! Papa got her to crawl a couple of steps, chasing the ice cream on his spoon. A girl after my own heart!

We are so thankful for those who serve our country! There is no other nation like our own. I am so thankful for the right to practice my religion. I know this country is watched over by our Heavenly Father! It is a land of the free, something so many of us take for granted. May it continue to be so...God bless the USA!!

Mmmm...Smell that CLEAN Mountain Air!!

Welcome to Montana! It was a great trip home! Full of family and fun! The ONLY downside was the rain that tried to cramp our style...but didn't (well, not too much anyway). It was so nice to go home and spend some overdue time with the fam. Taylor was able to stay with us for the first 10 and we missed him for the next 10. Cruz ate, drank, slept, and played with whatever he wanted. Rosie ate just about everything she wanted, didn't sleep, and is now in the beginning stages of crawling! All in a couple weeks. I had some much overdue alone time, and a whole lot of time to just lay around and enjoy some quality company! We had a blast and it made us realize how much we love our family and how nice it is to return home and sleep in our own beds as well. We wish we could have seen everyone, but were excited to see those we did! We love you all and can't wait until the next party! See you then!
